Retron Family

The Retron series, first introduced by Hyperkin in 2010, revitalized classic gaming by offering versatile consoles that play original cartridges from vintage systems. The initial Retron 1 supported NES cartridges, followed by the Retron 3 in 2011, which added support for NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis games. Later models, including the Retron 5, released in 2014, expanded compatibility to include NES, SNES, Genesis, Famicom, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges. These systems allowed gamers to experience retro titles on modern TVs with HDMI output and save states, bridging the gap between old-school gaming and contemporary technology. The Retron consoles contributed significantly to the retro gaming revival by making classic games more accessible to new generations without the need for original hardware.
